volunteer

Are you interested in history? Do you want to spend some time learning something new? The Silk Museum has a range of voluntary roles. These include everything from looking after our industrial machinery, greeting visitors front-of-house and working alongside our curators.

We also work with schools and education programmes and have a few former teachers on our team. We really value our volunteers and we always need an extra pair of hands.

It’s a great way to get out and make new friends. Or maybe you need valuable work experience to help launch your career. If you’re aged 18 or over and willing to learn, enjoy meeting new people and have a bit of spare time, we’d love to hear from you.

Anyone can apply and you’re not limited to one role. To find out more contact: volunteers@silkmacclesfield.org.uk

We really need help! If you can spare a day or two a week or even an afternoon it would be hugely helpful. Saturdays and Wednesdays are particularly busy, so if those days suit someone then we would love to hear from you. It is a really friendly place to work and there’s always a lot going on.
